Krysten making the news Today I received several emails but I didn't know what had happened. A few months ago, a new corporate newsletter was started for FOX employees, called Station to Station. This goes out to all the owned & operated stations throughout FOX. I believe there are 33 in all. I was proudly informed that in this issue, the story of Krysten Sowell Day in Houston, May 18th, was chosen from this station. There was a picture of Krysten and I that day and the story read: "Krysten Sowell Day" (picture of she and I) KRIV-KTXH Chief of Security Dana Sowell and his daughter Krysten, This spring, Dana Sowell, Chief of Security, KRIV -FOX 26/KTXH-UPN 20, celebrated a very special , miraculous day. Fifteen years ago Krysten was diagnosed with a rare, terminal illness called Batten Disease. At that time, doctors told Sowell that Krysten would not live past the age of six. The doctors were wrong. On Wednesday, May 18th, Krysten celebrated her 18th birthday with a big party and an unexpected gift from the mayor's office: an official City of Houston Proclamation naming May 18, 2005 "Krysten Lianne Sowell Day." Congratulations to Krysten and the Sowell family! Obviously I am proud and honored to be Krysten's Father, and I am honored that this was a story that FOX 26/UPN 20, chose to represent their station for this newsletter Dana |
