Special AnnouncementThe Batten Disease Support and Research Association (BDSRA) is pleased to announce that limited funds ($22,600) are available to promote research and/or assist in a viable research project to development of a treatment for the “Classic” Late Infantile form of Batten Disease (LINCL). All grant award(s) must be used to cover direct costs of the project/investigation and may not be used for overhead costs. In the event this amount changes it will be announced on the BDSRA website - http://bdsra.org. The submitted proposals must be concise: no more than three pages in
length and include a working hypothesis, preliminary results pertinent
to the specific investigation, available resources, research proposed,
a short budget, and the anticipated results and their significance.

As a condition of award the investigator must provide assurance that a report will be made to the BDSRA within 12 months of the award date with a short interim report at six months. Proposal preparation time should be minimal. BDSRA favors scientists who share biological samples and collaborate. Proposals must be postmarked no later 11:59 PM, March 15, 1999.
