Hope for Batten Children  BDSRA Research Award   

BDSRA Awards $22,600.00  Research Grant

April 27, 1999 - In response to the Request for Proposals issued January 20, 1999, BDSRA has awarded $22,600 to Martin Katz, Ph.D., University of Missouri School of Medicine.

Dr. Katz's research project titled " A Mouse Gene Knockout Model for Classic Late-Infantile Batten Disease" was selected by a scientific review committee from those proposals received and approved by the BDSRA Board of Directors. This project will develop a much needed mouse model for the Late Infantile form of Batten Disease and will be a step toward developing a treatment.
