Billy
and Joey Milani
William R. (Billy) and Joseph A. (Joey) Milani are affected with the late-infantile form of Batten Disease. Billy is 7 years old and although he can no longer walk and talk, he is very alert, smiles a lot and loves to listen to music, videos and his favorite books. Joey is 4 and never stops. Even though he cannot talk, he has learned to communicate through some sign language and augmentative communication devices. Billy and Joey live with their parents, Cindy and Bill Milani, in Frederick, Maryland. Their parents are active in BDSRA with Bill as the webmaster and Cindy as a member of the finance committee.
