Brittany Alyssa Mastronardi
In March 1995, Brittany was diagnosed with having late-infantile Batten Disease. Today, Brittany can no longer walk, but crawls nicely. She can not speak but makes sounds. Her vision still seems to be good and she tracks very well. Brittany enjoys all kinds of music and "Barney". She likes swimming and being outdoors. Brittany attends regular school. She is very alert and understands when spoken to. Senior kindergarten and bus rides are a big hit with Brittany! Brittany lives at home in Ruthven, Ontario, Canada with her parents, Tony and Eadie Mastronardi and two year old brother, Jared. Her parents are very active in fund-raising for Batten Disease research and have started their own foundation called "Brittany's Friends Fund for Childhood Brain Disease Research." This foundation is strictly used for research for Batten Disease. Every dollar raised for this foundation is 100% towards ending this devastating disease. For any information or direct contributions regarding this foundation, please call or write to: Our ultimate goal is to erase Batten Disease forever! Then and only then will Brittany and hundreds of her friends affected with Batten Disease live a life free of disease, with hopes and dreams for a beautiful tomorrow. Won't you help bring color to a child's life? Tony & Eadie Mastronardi Dated Oct. 10, 1996. |
